fashion night out 2015

Mark the date. This year’s Fashion’s Night Out will be held on September 10th and has been labelled Vogue Loves Regent Street.

Unusually, this year will be the first time that the event is going to be focused on one central location. Get ready for a night of celebration, one that will be working with luxury brands, high-street retailers, independent boutiques and bars and restaurants.

Editor Alexandra Shulman said “We’re delighted to be celebrating Fashion’s Night Out for our seventh consecutive year, and as the centre of London’s retail heartland it made perfect sense to focus our activity with Vogue Loves Regent Street,”

Le High Waist

For so long now skinny jeans have been on everyone’s agenda; dominating the shops as both men and women have taken up the trend. Recently there came the news that a change was in store with the return of flares and the expansion to the bottom of the most common wardrobe staple. Yet there is also another change that seems to be increasing in popularity: the high waist.

high waist jeansPreviously termed ‘the mom jeans’, this style has been completely revitalised recently with celebrities such as Kim Kardashian dubbing them fit for all. The days of low-waist are numbered as everyone seems to be getting bored with having to see other people’s bottoms. And who can blame them? It is definitely a look that I would never go for. Shabby meets chic? Maybe it’s just shabby meets shabby.

Elongated legs are one of the most desirable features nowadays and that is certainly what happens when you slip on a pair of high-waisted skinny jeans. They accentuate the curves in the correct places whilst hiding a less toned tummy to create an effect that suggests curvy femininity.

Naturally, it doesn’t have to be skinny jeans, the high-waist can be found in most styles so you can choose whichever takes your fancy. Personally skinny jeans will always be my first pick, they always seem the most comfortable.

Let me know, what is your favourite way to wear a pair of high-waist jeans?
